I am driven to discover the complexities and nuances that exist between contrasting categories. Often, bordering edges are more similar to each other than to the central parts of the category they belong to. It is important to recognize that something can be ‘both, and’ instead of ‘either, or’.
Using ecosystem mapping, a ‘map’ of the design space you are working within, we can redefine the categories we are operating within, effectively reframing the topic.
This method of design is driven by care. To me, care is a combination of love and fury. It is a form of criticism for the way things are, rooted in the assumption that improvement is possible. It encompasses a devotion to excellence, not just new or different but better. It centers and uplifts the human being using and experiencing this creative endeavor. Guided by care, I explore the unknown to to help create a better world by reimagining our current one

Guided by the insights we developed, we can recombine these ideas in a unique way to begin testing new concepts and creative solutions.
The insights and connections we discover create balance between dichotomous things. This provides tensional integrity, or tensegrity. Tensegrity is when the tension between two opposing forces creates balance in the system, resulting in an entirely new structure, or, in this case, a new conept.
