GAUDISM
An exploration on the philosophies behind Gaudí’s work. Gaudí designed buildings that shaped a skyline and a country. They informed not just the aesthetics of a city bit the culture, lifestyle, and philosophy. This is my project diving into this topic.
Some Highlights:
Santiago Rusiñol, a Spanish painter from this time period, famously depicted a woman before and after taking morphine. Rusiñol embodied a school of thought that challenged that of Gaudí’s strict, righteous one. Though, like Gaudí, Rusiñol played on the edge between our reality and our dream world.
Inspired by Gaudí’s irreverence, I drew connection to other rebels across history to explore the role of those who challenge social norms.
